Environment: Building with the future in mind

At our company, sustainability is more than just empty words—it's the foundation upon which we build our business. As a manufacturer in the construction industry, we are well aware that every product and every process matters. That's why we are fully committed to reducing our environmental impact and responsibly using natural resources. We believe that construction can be a driving force for positive change. Our efforts are focused on the most important areas to ensure that our buildings are more efficient and planet-friendly throughout their entire life cycle.
-
We provide energy-efficient solutions that help reduce building emissions. At the same time, we are constantly working to make our production and transport more environmentally friendly.
-
Energy efficiency is part of our company’s DNA. From the way we manufacture our products to their performance, we strive to reduce energy consumption and seek out alternative, renewable sources.
-
We focus on the sensible use of available resources. We are increasing the proportion of recycled materials in our operations and implementing circular design principles.
-
We are aware of the impact of our operations on biodiversity. We act carefully and in compliance with regulations, especially in mining areas, to minimize negative effects on the environment.
-
We are transparent in our actions and are building databases to track and improve our environmental efficiency. We operate in accordance with strict local and EU standards, which guarantees control over emissions, water use, and pollution.
-
Where possible, we assess our products based on reliable, scientific data, using Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and independent Environmental Product Declarations (EPD). This approach is continuously being developed to ensure that each of our products meets the highest standards.
People: Our greatest value

At the heart of our business are people. We believe that regardless of whether they work in production, logistics, administration, or management, they deserve a safe, respectful, and supportive work environment. Our commitment to social responsibility is based on simple yet strong principles: honesty, inclusivity, and caring for the health of everyone in the swisspor Group. Here are the principles that guide us every day:
-
We care for the physical and mental well-being of our employees. We invest in modern safety systems, training, and prevention, and we strictly comply with national health and safety regulations. Our goal is to create a place where everyone feels protected and comfortable.
-
We respect employee rights, working time regulations, and the right to fair compensation. We support open dialogue between employees and management, building a culture of trust and responsibility.

Our goal is not only to be a responsible employer but also to create workplaces where people can thrive and where strong teams build the future of swisspor together.
-
Although dialogue with our stakeholders already exists in various forms, we plan to strengthen it. We want to work more closely with local communities, customers, and partners to better understand their expectations and more effectively manage social and environmental issues.
Governance: The Foundation of responsibility

At swissporTON, responsible governance is the foundation of our business. We are fully committed to upholding the principles of ethics, law, and standards, making decisions that reflect our values at every stage of our business operations. As a privately-owned group of companies, we have clear structures and principles. This ensures that ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability are an integral part of our daily work and long-term strategy. Our approach to governance is defined by the following principles:
-
Our Code of Conduct sets clear rules for ethical business practices. These relate to fair competition, anti-corruption, transparency, and the responsible use of resources. We always ensure full compliance with the legal and regulatory requirements applicable in different countries.
-
We communicate openly, and our decisions are documented and traceable - both in our internal processes and in our relationships with stakeholders.
-
We support the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO). These include fair treatment, safe working conditions, and zero tolerance for discrimination and forced labor. We also verify our suppliers and business partners to ensure that they also adhere to these principles.
-
Our supply chain management is horizontal in nature. In priority areas, we support the implementation of standards and introduce common principles for all suppliers, in line with the Group's guidelines.
-
We have enabled employees and third parties to confidentially report irregularities. We take every report seriously and treat it as an opportunity to improve our processes.
Products and innovation: Building the future

Our products are created with today's buildings and tomorrow's expectations in mind. Whether they are thermal insulation boards, bituminous membranes, clay roof tiles, or other building components, our goal is to deliver efficient, durable solutions of long-lasting value. "Sustainable development is not a separate function—we want it to be built into the very essence of our products. This means we analyze the source of materials, the long-term performance of products, and what happens to them at the end of their life cycle." Our approach to innovation is based on the following principles:
-
Our products help reduce buildings' energy demand, supporting climate goals, compliance with regulations, and long-term cost savings.
-
We develop materials that are durable even under the most difficult conditions. A long lifespan plays a key role in reducing the environmental impact of products.
-
We strive to increase recycled content, improve recyclability, and reduce our dependence on fossil raw materials. Where possible, our goal is to close material loops and reduce waste.
-
Our development teams from various fields collaborate with research institutes, suppliers, and clients. This helps us lead in material innovation and building science.
-
We use life cycle thinking, environmental assessments, and customer feedback to continuously improve our product systems—while maintaining a balance between function, sustainability, and design.
Our sustainable development efforts are coordinated by a dedicated group-level core team, including the Corporate Sustainability Manager (ESG) and the ESG Compliance Advisor. This team works closely with the CEO, CFO, and Strategy Manager.
